Do I need to make an appointment or register?
No. There is nothing to book and nothing to bring but your items — just come along during the event opening hours. Registering for an event only means we text you the venue, parking and timings; it is not a ticket, and you are just as welcome without it.
How long does a valuation take?
A typical valuation takes 15–30 minutes depending on how many items you bring. We never rush the process — every piece gets the attention it deserves.
What if I don't want to sell?
That's completely fine. There is never any obligation. Many people come purely to learn what their items are worth or to get a written valuation for insurance purposes.
How quickly do I get paid?
If you accept our offer, payment is made by immediate bank transfer before you leave the table. Funds typically clear within minutes and your receipt is emailed to you. We never pay by cheque.
What do you need from me before you can pay?
One form of photo ID — a driving licence or passport — and your account number and sort code (or your debit card). Both are legal requirements on transactions like these, and they are the only way we can pay you on the spot.
How do you test my items?
Everything is tested in front of you, on the table, in your sight. We use a handheld XRF X-ray analyser to read the exact precious metal content — non-destructive, so nothing is filed, scratched or acid-tested — plus electronic diamond and moissanite testers, loupe inspection and calibrated scales. See how our testing works.
Will you take my items away to value them?
Never. Your items stay on the table with you for the whole valuation. Nothing goes into a back room and nothing leaves your sight unless and until you accept an offer.
How do you decide what to offer me?
We assess the precious metal content by XRF and weight against the current London Fix price, then assess the piece for resale — brand, age, craftsmanship, stones and collector demand. You are offered whichever figure is higher, and we explain in plain English how we got there.
Can I sell some items and keep others?
Of course. You choose piece by piece. Many people sell the scrap and broken items and keep the ones that mean something.
Is there a limit on how much I can bring?
No. A full jewellery box, a biscuit tin of odds and ends or a suitcase are all normal. Larger collections simply get more time — most valuations take 15 to 30 minutes.
What if I can't make it to a roadshow?
We offer a fully insured postal valuation service. Request a free pack and we'll send you everything you need to post your items to us safely.
Can I change my mind after selling?
Once payment is made and items have changed hands, the transaction is complete. However, we'll always give you time to think before any exchange takes place — there is never any pressure.
Is there parking at the events?
All our venues are chosen for easy access. Parking details are noted on each event listing. If in doubt, contact us on WhatsApp and we'll let you know.
Are the events free to attend?
Absolutely. Our valuation events are completely free. There is never any charge for a valuation and no obligation to sell.
